David is an interdisciplinary microbiologist with international experience in the European algae industry and academic sector. After a BSc at the University of Aveiro (PT) and an MSc at the New University of Lisbon (PT), he pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Sheffield (UK). He then spent 18 months as a research biochemist for AlgaeCytes, Ltd (UK) before returning to academia as a postdoc at the University of Copenhagen (DK). He is currently an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral researcher at the University of Jena (DE) with the project "How does secretion shape cyanobacterial ecology? A proteometabolomic approach".
