Dr. Nitin Trivedi is working as Assistant Professor (DST INSPIRE Faculty) at DBT-ICT Centre for Energy Biosciences, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India. He obtained a graduation and post-graduation degree in Microbiology. Dr. Trivedi has completed his Ph.D. in Biological Science from CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India in 2015. Since 2009,  Dr. Trivedi has been working in the area of Seaweed Biotechnology (Phycology) and explored seaweeds for biofuels, value-added products, and bio-refinery. At present he is working on growth engineering of seaweeds for biomass production, seaweed mediated bioremediation, and value addition of seaweed-derived products for agriculture, nutraceutical, and biomedical applications. So far, he got 18 publications (average impact factor 5.5) in SCI journals, four book chapters, and two patents to his credits. He received several national and international fellowships/awards like DST INSPIRE Faculty by DST, New Delhi, DSKPDF by UGC, New Delhi, ARO PDF in Israel, PDF at Dalhousie University, Canada, Visiting Scientist at the University of Algarve, Portugal, guest researcher at University of Messina, Italy, etc. Since 2017, Dr. Trivedi is teaching Microbiology to BTech and BPharm students at ICT, Mumbai. Dr. Trivedi has delivered several invited talks and also serves as a reviewer of SCI journals/funding agency such as Energy & Fuel (ACS publications), Energy conversion & Management (Elsevier), Process Biochemistry (Elsevier), Rendiconti Lincei (Springer), 3 Biotech (Springer), Critical Reviews in Biotechnology (Taylor and Francis) and National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa
